A Case Study on Freight Forwarding Software implemented for one of India’s top Logistics firm

Brief:

In today’s competitive world, the primary focus of any organizations is on improving customer service. To achieve towards this, companies are focused on a wide range of process-improvement initiatives. Customer Profile:

They established their presence a decade back offering Freight Forwarding services over air and sea mode of transport across borders. They operate from all ports in India and abroad, having branches in all the metros of India.

Summary:

The client was on the lookout for a better solution that would help in avoid duplication of work, tracking of activities, minimizing expenditure, synchronization of data, maintain documents, controlling of credits, better customer service and overall better control of their operations. Also the client was interested in a system that would allow them to monitor their sales and customer performance with respect to the locations.

The Choice:

Infolog Solutions proposed the implementation of their Freight Forwarding Software FFSoft, which aids freight forwarders to perform the operations in an efficient and cost effective manner. It allows the Top Management to have a complete overview of all the activities with respect to locations and overall performance.  The software can interface into any ERP system, albeit the customers own back office solution or that used by their client / service provider.

The Solution:

Infolog Solutions provided a managed Web based total solution with FFSoft, which could provide the client with comprehensive information and monitoring of their overall activities. With a single click of mouse, tracking of shipment and status of job is made available to the client in a matter of few seconds, which was not the case, before implementing FFSoft. Also the solution gave control on credits which made their work simpler and ease. A special feature of document attachment became a useful tool for them to maintain documents in the software itself, helping towards a paperless work environment.

The Result:

Now the customer can view the performance of each branch with respect to the service and profitability. They can have their budget created in the software either value based or shipment based and view the reports based on the same. FFSoft is designed in such a way each branch can maintain their customers billing (income) and capture the expenses. At any point of time one can view the profitability of the branch based on clients sitting at their Head Office.

With the help of FFSoft one can see the improved customer service levels and enhances the overall operations. Data accuracy has improved. Mistakes are pushed to an absolute minimum. Deliveries are timely, shipments are accurate and customers stay happy. This results in avoiding the very costly problem of losing existing customers to the competition.
